Registration

  • This 1.5-day seminar, presented by Dr Cynthia Kerson, has been designed as an opportunity for QEEG Certification Candidates to consolidate knowledge and skills acquired through prior completion of an accredited didactic course and mentoring in QEEG data acquisition and analysis. The seminar will emphasise the significance of de-artifacting and montage on outcomes, including the evaluation of drowsiness for understanding basic brain function. This course will review the current modelling approaches such as phenotypes and vigilance modelling, and also the impact of these models for clinical interpretation and selection of treatments and interventions in psychiatry. Please bring your PCs, EEG-analysis software and cases for guided practice of techniques being modelled throughout the course.

On day 2 of this seminar, participants will complete the QEEG Board Exam to assess their knowledge across the five blueprint areas with test items derived from the QBoard Required Readings List, a compilation of required books and journal articles. If candidates score a minimum of 80 on the exam, have successfully completed an accredited QEEG didactic training course and submitted to their mentor 5 approved QEEG acquisitions and interpretations, they will achieve Diplomate certification.

N.B. ANSA QClub members will be given the privilege of 'priority registration' as there are limited places available in this course.

The Applied Neuroscience Society of Australasia proudly hosts

Trauma to Triumph: Evidence-based interventions & neurotechnologies for recovery and performance

19th & 20th November 2016, SMC Conference & Function Centre, Sydney, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA

Come and celebrate the 10th annual conference of the Applied Neuroscience Society of Australasia (ANSA) since its establishment in 2006 by the amalgamation of the Australian Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAAPB) and the Pacific Rim Chapter of the International Society for Neuronal Regulation (iSNR).

Trauma to Triumph: To open the heart after tragedy; to yearn to learn after many failures; to commit to excel in what we love; these all share one essential quality, being that what is honoured most in ourselves – our determination to be our best.  To make the most of what we have and to rise above our frailties - this is the very stuff of heroes!

Neurofeedback offers a way forward to raise our capabilities across the spectrum of our endeavours. It is fitting that this conference focuses on both how we can train to overcome trauma and train to reach for our finest. Paralympians and Olympians share the same striving.  The hurt and the blessed share dreams.

Whether you are a clinician, teacher, coach or team leader this conference will inspire you to see the hero within all. And how to bring to bear modern tools to help make the best of what we have.

I look forward to being with you in November.

Jon Hegg

Conference Chair & ANSA President

ANSA is a non-profit professional organisation and relies on financial support to help us reach our goals and objectives in promoting the advances of neuroscience in clinical practice.

Please download our Event Newsletter to share with your professional colleagues.

While most participants will be drawn from the clinical health sector, approximately 25% of delegates will represent government departments, companies, and advocacy groups, research and practice in applied neuroscience. Academics, practitioners and post-graduate students will contribute to the conference program. Our keynote speakers are global experts in their fields and include Bessel van der Kolk and Sebern Fisher.

The ANSA Annual Conference aims to:

1.      promote the scientific study and professional practice of Applied Neuroscience through methods including biofeedback, neurotherapy, applied psychophysiology and nutrition.

2.      offer training and further education for health professionals in the application of biofeedback, neurotherapy, applied psychophysiology, nutrition and other self-regulatory therapeutic tools.

3.      encourage research and expansion of clinical and educational applications of applied neurosciences.
